the entire process is explained, we will review your medical

We also will review your
pre-op and post-op
instructions. We then schedule your
conscious sedation dental work.
Your Conscious Sedation Dentistry Treatment
Visit
At your appointment, you will be drowsy and unaware of
the time passing by. Our specially trained team will monitor
you throughout the appointment. Your vital signs (heart rate,
blood pressure and oxygen) are fully monitored until your appointment
is over. When you awake, you'll be done with the dentistry
and feel relaxed and comfortable. And best of all, you usually
won't remember the treatment appointment.
You'll
experience a special understanding and sensitivity towards
your needs. We do offer IV sedation dentistry and Nitrous
Oxide as alternatives to oral "One Pill" Sedation Dentistry.
Many patients who are treated with IV sedation or "One Pill" Conscious
Sedation frequently say they don't even remember being at the
dentist!
Sleep Dentistry vs. Sedation Dentistry Don't be confused between
Conscious Sedation Dentistry and Sleep Dentistry. Sleep dentistry
or general anesthesia refers to the use of anesthesia in an
amount that will cause the patient to lose consciousness. During
sedation dentistry the patient's muscles will not function and
he or she may need to be on the breathing machine.
Dr. O'Neil does not use sleep dentistry for his patients.
He uses one of several conscious sedation dentistry methods
to relax you so you are comfortable and happy during your dental
procedure. In some cases, however, you may fall into a light
sedation because you are so relaxed.
Before you know it, treatment is complete and you may
feel as if you have just had a refreshing nap!
